Pizza/Pasta Sauce

This works great for pizza and pasta alike. Make a double recipe for double duty!

This is an incredibly easy recipe. Simply assemble the ingredients and heat them in a pot over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until your sauce cooks down to the desired thickness.

I use this for pizza, especially pita pizza lately because it’s so easy. This also works great as a base for pink sauce, vodka sauce, etc. It’s sure to be a big hit.

I double the recipe and make pizza for three of us two nights and I use the rest of the sauce for pasta. I add cashew cream and can easily sauce 16+ ounces of pasta with what’s leftover after making six personal pita pizzas.

INGREDIENTS

  • 15 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 TBSP nutritional yeast
  • 1 ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ tsp lemon juice
  • ¼ black garlic
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ⅛ tsp MSG (optional)
DIRECTIONS

Place all ingredients into a pot and cook on medium heat until sauce is heated and at desired thickness. Thicker is better for pizza sauce. Use this for Pita Pizza. Combine this with cashew cream for a great pink sauce. Enjoy!
